Terms & Conditions – Busuu

1. Acceptance of Terms

By subscribing to or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms, forming a binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Busuu, in partnership with Easypaisa and its authorized partners ("we", "our", "us").

We may update or modify these Terms from time to time to reflect service improvements, pricing updates, legal requirements, or operational changes. Any material changes will be communicated in advance where required, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility & Access

• The Service is available to users in Pakistan who subscribe through the Easypaisa payment gateway.
• Users must have a valid Easypaisa account or another authorized Easypaisa payment method to subscribe and access the Service.
• The Service is intended for parents and guardians subscribing on behalf of children.
• You are responsible for ensuring that your subscription information is accurate and that your device and Easypaisa account remain active and eligible for recurring payments.

3. Subscription & Charging

• By subscribing through Easypaisa, you authorize recurring charges in accordance with your selected subscription plan.
• At the time of subscription, an initial authorization charge of PKR 1 will be deducted to verify your payment method and activate your trial.
• The Service includes a 1-day trial period beginning immediately after successful subscription.
• Upon completion of the trial period, the applicable subscription fee will be charged automatically. The current subscription fee is PKR 300 per month, unless otherwise communicated.
• Thereafter, the subscription will automatically renew every month at the then-current applicable subscription fee unless you unsubscribe before the next renewal date.
• Subscription charges are deducted directly from your Easypaisa account or other authorized Easypaisa payment method.

4. Validity & Auto-Renewal

• Trial Period: Valid for 1 day from the time of successful subscription.
• Monthly Subscription: Begins upon successful deduction of the applicable subscription fee following the trial and remains valid for 30 days.
• The subscription automatically renews at the end of each monthly billing cycle at the applicable subscription fee, provided sufficient funds are available in your Easypaisa account or authorized payment method.
• If sufficient funds are unavailable, we may retry the payment in accordance with our billing policy. Continued payment failure may result in suspension or termination of access to the Service.

5. Unsubscription

You may unsubscribe at any time through:

• The in-app or web cancellation option (where available); or
• The Easypaisa unsubscription mechanism provided for the Service.

Once unsubscribed, access to premium features will continue until the end of the current paid subscription period.

No refunds will be provided for any partially used subscription period.

6. Service Use & Responsibility

• The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
• You agree to use the Service only for lawful and personal purposes.
• You are responsible for maintaining sufficient balance or payment authorization for recurring subscription charges.
• You must not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or otherwise misuse any part of the Service or its content.

7. Payments & Refund Policy

• All payments are securely processed through Easypaisa and its authorized payment partners.
• Subscription charges are non-refundable except in cases of verified billing errors or where required by applicable law.
• If you believe you have been charged incorrectly or more than once, you may contact customer support for assistance.

8. Intellectual Property

All Busuu content, including but not limited to lessons, videos, graphics, animations, text, trademarks, logos, and design elements, is owned by or licensed to Busuu and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

Unauthorized reproduction, modification, distribution, or commercial exploitation of any content is strictly prohibited.

9. Service Updates & Changes

We may introduce new features, modify existing functionality, revise subscription plans, or update pricing from time to time. Where applicable, such changes will be communicated through SMS, in-app notifications, email, or official Easypaisa channels before they become effective.

10. Limitation of Liability

While we strive to provide a reliable and secure Service, temporary interruptions may occur due to scheduled maintenance, technical issues, network outages, or third-party service dependencies.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Busuu, Easypaisa, nor their respective partners shall be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from or related to the use of, or inability to use, the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Any dispute relating to the Service shall first be addressed through Busuu and Easypaisa customer support. If a resolution cannot be reached, the matter shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Pakistan.
